SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– The Rockhurst Hawks scored three second-half goals in a 3-0 win over Drury on Sunday afternoon at Harrison Stadium in Springfield, Missouri.
The Hawks improved to 1-0-1 while dropping the Panthers to 1-1.
The two teams battled to a scoreless first half, then Rockhurst broke through with a goal in the 63
rd minute from Mallory Mumby.
Drury nearly tied the game moments later when a shot by Keely Combs banged off of the left post.
The Hawks then extended the lead in the 70
th minute as Elle Guttman's shot through traffic found its way into the net. Rockhurst tacked on another goal in the final minute.
Elsa Gonzalez had three shots for the Panthers, while Rockhurst goalkeeper Alyssa Kerperien had four saves.
Drury plays again on Friday when they travel to Southwest Baptist for a 6 pm game in Bolivar, Missouri.
