Drury returns home to face Lindenwood
After three straight games on the road, the Drury Panthers return home for a match-up with Lindenwood on Thursday at 7:45 pm in the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
Â
Drury is 5-8 and looking for their first win since Jan. 16. The Panthers lost at William Jewell on Tuesday 88-78 and enter Thursday's game in third place in the West Division of the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
Â
Lindenwood is 7-7 and coming off of a win on Saturday over West Division leader Southwest Baptist. The Lions knocked off the Bearcats 91-90 in double-overtime. Lindenwood is in third place in the Central Division.
Â
Thursday's game is a rematch of a Dec. 20 game in St. Charles, Missouri, won by the Panthers 90-84. Drury trailed 47-45 at halftime but grabbed the lead early in the second half and held off the Lions down the stretch for a six-point road win.
Conley Garrison led Drury with 26 points in that game, while TJ Crockett had 28 for Lindenwood.
Â
The Panthers have won all three meetings against Lindenwood in their team history. In addition to this year's game, Drury handed the Lions an 83-62 loss in Springfield last year and won an encounter in 1993 when both teams were in the NAIA, 88-76 in Weiser Gym.
Â
Lindenwood's TJ Crockett has been the GLVC Player of the Week three times this season and enters Thursday's game as the league's leading scorer averaging 26.4 points per game. The senior from University City, Missouri, is also shooting 49.8 percent from the field and hitting 36 percent of his three-point attempts.
Â
Following Thursday's game, the Panthers are at home again on Saturday when they host Missouri-St. Louis. Tipoff is at 2 pm in the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
