DU men's golf opens spring season tying for 7th at Music City Invitational

OLD HICKORY, Tenn.— The Drury Panthers opened their spring season with a seventh-place tie in a 17-team field at the Music City Invitational hosted by Trevecca Nazarene at Hermitage Golf Course in Old Hickory, Tennessee.
 
Host Trevecca Nazarene won the tournament shooting seven-under-par as a team and earned the victory by eight shots over Northwood. Ferris State and Ashland tied for third shooting five-over-par.
 
The Panthers shot 10-over-par to tie Grand Valley State for seventh.
 
Clayton Kaiser led Drury shooting an even-par, 144, in the 36-hole tournament. The sophomore from Monett finished tied for 10th among 88 players. Cooper Hess tied for 18th at two-over, and Walker Tynes jumped 19 spots in the individual rankings shooting a one-under-par 71 on Tuesday to finished tied for 25th at three-over. Jack Cronin came in tied for 46th at six-over-par, and Tryn Titus was eight-over-par to come in tied for 55th.
 
Ashland's Beau Beryl won medalist honors at the tournament shooting a nine-under, 135.
 
Drury returns to action in the Central Region Preview at Shoal Creek Golf Course in Kansas City, Missouri, March 29-30.
