NORMAN, Okla. – Drury junior
Gaige Lewis has been named to the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) NCAA Division II PING All-Midwest Team, the association announced Tuesday (May 19).
The All-Midwest Team consists of 12 golfers representing the GLVC, GLIAC, and G-MAC. Lewis is one of five GLVC selections, joining three golfers from Missouri-St. Louis and one from Missouri S&T.
Lewis has already earned First Team All-GLVC and GLVC All-Tournament Team honors this season after capturing the GLVC individual championship.
A product of Kickapoo High School, Lewis led the Panthers with a 72.8 scoring average and set a program-record 64 (-8) in the third round of the Findlay Spring Invitational on March 24. He also recorded the second-best 54-hole total in program history with a 208 at the Music City Invitational. His performance this year moved his career total of tournaments finished under par to five, the third-most in Drury history.
Lewis and teammate
Ellton Bostrom both qualified for the NCAA Midwest/Central Regional, becoming Drury's first individual qualifiers since Clayton Larsen (2019) and only the second pair of teammates to qualify separately since 2002. At the regional, Lewis finished tied for 10th overall at one-over par (217). Among Midwest-only players, he tied for fifth, and his 217 marked Drury's best regional score since 2017, when Craig Stefureak carded a 212.
Lewis becomes Drury's first All-Region selection since 2020 (Larsen) and just the sixth in program history.
