SPRINGFIELD, Mo.- Drury split a doubleheader with Rockhurst on Tuesday as they scored a run in the bottom of the seventh to take game one, then lost 3-1 in the second game at Thompson Field in Springfield.

The Panthers moved their record to 9-6 and 3-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, while the Hawks went to 8-4 and 3-1 in the league.

Drury won game one on a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the seventh.
Lauren Beier started the inning with a double, picking up Drury's second hit of the game.
Grace King followed with a single, and one out later,
Rylee Kolb walked to load the bases.
Hannah Chambliss worked a full count, then drew a ball to force in the winning run.

Drury pitching held the Hawks scoreless as Rockhurst had six hits but stranded eight runners.
Karsyn Smith (2-0) earned the win in relief, going four innings allowing only one hit and one walk with two strikeouts. Smith retired the final nine batters she faced. Lexie Storrer (5-1) took her first loss of the season.

Rockhurst won game two 3-1 and took an early lead with a run in the first inning. The Hawks went up 2-0 on a solo home run in the fourth, but the Panthers pulled within one after
Sydney Sneed belted a homer in the bottom half of the inning. Rockhurst picked up an insurance run in the fifth and held off Drury as the Panthers stranded eight runners in the loss.

Storrer (6-1) shook off the game one loss and returned in relief to get her team out of a fourth inning jam when Drury had runners at first and second with one out following Sneed's home run. Â She picked up the win going 3.2 innings out of the bullpen. Â

The Panthers return to action on Saturday when they travel to Southwest Baptist for a 1 pm doubleheader in Bolivar, Missouri.
