Panthers battle unbeaten Lindenwood to 1-1 draw

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– The Drury Panthers battled undefeated Lindenwood to a 1-1 draw in double-overtime at Harrison Stadium in Springfield, Missouri, on Friday.

Drury moved their record to 3-1-2 while Lindenwood went to 5-0-2.

After a scoreless first half, the Panthers got on the board on a penalty kick in the 53rd minute. Drury drew a foul in the penalty area, and Chloe Cash took the penalty kick for the Panthers and converted to give her team a 1-0 lead. It was the third goal of the year for the junior from Nixa.

The Lions evened the score five minutes later, however, on Morgan Weller's first goal of the year.

Neither team broke through in the overtime periods, and Lindenwood forced the tie stopping three Drury shots in the second OT.

Drury continues the homestand taking on Missouri-St. Louis on Sunday at noon at Harrison Stadium.
