QUINCY, Ill.– Quincy broke a 2-2 tie against Drury with a flurry of goals in the second half to pull away for a 5-2 win on Sunday at Legends Stadium in Quincy, Illinois.
The loss dropped the Panthers to 6-7, while the Hawks improved to 8-4-1.
Quincy scored two minutes into the contest, but the Panthers tied the game just before halftime on
Yassin Ghasemi's first goal of the season.
The Hawks went back in front early in the second half, but Drury pulled even in the 52
nd minute on the seventh goal of the year by
Jayd Hamdaoua.
Three minutes later, Quincy's Aubrey Reis converted a penalty kick to give the Hawks the lead back for good. Quincy then got a pair of goals 22 seconds apart in the 61
st minutes to take a 5-2 lead.
Craig Chisholm had a pair of goals for the Hawks, while Reis had a goal and an assist for Quincy.
Drury ends the regular season on Friday when they host Truman State at 7:30 pm in Harrison Stadium.
