ROLLA, Mo.— Missouri S&T downed Drury 12-2 to take three of the four games in a Great Lakes Valley Conference series in Rolla on Monday.
The Panthers dropped to 9-14 and 9-11 in the GLVC, while the Miners went to 11-13 and 7-9 in the league.
Missouri S&T banged out 13 hits while holding Drury to just three, and the Miners struck early, getting two runs in the first, another in the second, and three more runs in the third to claim a 6-0 lead.
The Panthers didn't get on the board until the sixth when they scored a pair of runs on a double by
Nikko Calabro. Drury trailed 8-2 after the two runs but couldn't stop the Miners offense as S&T added three more runs in the bottom half of the inning, then one more in the seventh to end the game in a run-rule decision.
Missouri S&T starter Dylan Mollett (2-0) was awarded the win despite going three innings, while
Hunter Becker (1-3) took the loss for the Panthers.
Drury plays a non-conference game on Tuesday when they travel to Missouri Southern State for a 3 pm game in Joplin.
