SPRINGFIELD, Mo.- Drury won for the 14
th time in their last 16 games as they swept Lindenwood in a doubleheader at Thompson Field in Springfield on Monday. The Panthers won game one 2-1, then took game two 8-4 to complete the sweep.

Drury improved to 18-7 and 12-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Lions fell to 19-7 and 12-6 in the league.Â

Drury won game one as Haylee Van Deventer out-dueled Lindenwood's Amanda Weyh for a 2-1 win. The game was scoreless until the bottom of the sixth inning when
Megan Tersteeg led off the frame reaching third base on a fielding error and throwing error by the Lions shortstop. One out later,
Abby Tiemann drove her in with a single, and
Lauren Beier's RBI-hit gave Drury a 2-0 lead.

Van Deventer (5-3) allowed a run in the seventh but closed out the game to get the win. She allowed just three hits and one run with no walks and a strikeout. Weyh, who was last week's NCAA-II Pitcher of the Week and entered the contest with an earned run average of 0.93, took the loss to drop to 9-3.

In game two, the Panthers jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning on their way to an 8-4 victory. Beier hit two home runs in the game, her sixth and seventh of the season, including a three-run shot in the opening frame.

Lindenwood pulled within a run of the lead and trailed 5-4 in the fourth inning when Drury responded with a run in the fifth, getting a sacrifice fly from pinch-hitter
Rylee Kolb. The Panthers scored two more times in the sixth as Beier hit a solo home run off of foul pole in left, and
Abbey McAteer raced home from second on a single by
Sydney Sneed.

Sneed reached base four times in the game, going 3 for 3 with a walk, and
Kinzy Mathis went 2 for 3 with a walk and three runs scored.

Van Deventer (6-3) pitched two innings of relief two get the win in both halves of Monday's doubleheader. Stormee Galka (6-2) took the loss, and
Lauren Beier pitched the sixth and seventh innings to pick up her first save of the year.

Drury will start a six-game road trip on Thursday when they travel to Maryville for a doubleheader. Game one starts at noon in St. Louis.
