Drury edged by Truman St. 1-0 in season finale

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– Truman State scored just before halftime and held off Drury in the second half for a 1-0 victory on Friday at Harrison Stadium in Springfield.

The loss ends the Panthers season at 5-6-3, while the Bulldogs improved to 7-6 and advance to the league tournament.

Truman State got the game's only goal off of a corner kick in the 40th minute. Peterson got her second goal of the year as she headed the ball into the net on an assist from Johanna Wallstab.

The Panthers made a push late and had a man-advantage for the last 9:08 after Truman State's Anna Meyer was issued a red card after receiving her second caution of the game. Drury put up a pair of shots down the stretch, including one that banged off of the crossbar.

The Bulldogs outshot the Panthers 9-8, and Beth Hopwood got the shutout for Truman State with two saves. Keely Combs had a pair of shots to lead Drury.

The Panthers 5-6-3 finish marks Drury's best conference record since the 2015 season. Justin Olson completed his first year as head coach of the program and had the Panthers in the hunt for their first postseason berth in seven years until the final day of the regular season.
