EVANSVILLE, Ind.- Drury bounced back from a 6-1 loss in game one to shut out Southern Indiana 2-0 in game two to earn a split of a doubleheader on Sunday in Evansville, Indiana.
 
The Panthers went to 21-10 overall and 15-5 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Screaming Eagles moved their record to 11-16 and 9-11 in the league.
 
Southern Indiana held the Panthers scoreless until the seventh inning of game one as the Screaming Eagles won the first game 6-1. Southern Indiana scored a run in the fourth, then took advantage of two Drury errors in the fifth to score five times. Southern Indiana starter Allie Goodin (6-5) got the win going seven innings, allowing seven hits and one unearned run, with two walks and eight strikeouts. Four of the six runs Drury allowed were unearned as Lauren Beier (4-4) took the loss. Hannah Chambliss went 2 for 3 with a run for the Panthers in game one.
 
In game two, Drury starter Bailee Nixon (4-2) fired a three-hit shutout. The freshman from Medora, Illinois, walked just one batter and recorded a strikeout in her first start since March 6. The Panthers scored a run in the first inning on an RBI-single by Abby Tiemann. The game stayed 1-0 until the sixth, when Drury added an insurance run on a hit by Kinzy Mathis. Tiemann went 2 for 3, while Devin Hale went 2 for 3 and scored both of Drury's runs.
 
The Panthers return home on Saturday and hosts fifth-ranked Indianapolis for a doubleheader starting at noon at Thompson Field.
