LIBERTY, Mo.– The Drury Panthers won their third straight game with a 6-0 victory at William Jewell in Liberty, Missouri, on Sunday afternoon.
Drury raised their record to 3-3 and 3-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, while the Cardinals fell to 1-4 and 1-2 in the league.
Senior
Jamie O'Brien scored his third goal of the weekend and got the Panthers on the board 10 minutes into the contest.
Mitchell Vaughn added a goal in the 31
st minute, and
Matheus Cunha scored four minutes later to give Drury a 3-0 lead at halftime.
The Panthers got three more goals in the second half as
Jayd Hamdaoua,
Aaron Dowsett, and
Ian Conger all added to Drury's lead. Cunha also had an assist, and
Joshua Lewis-Evans had two assists in Sunday's win.
Yannick Lamers (3-2) got the win in goal for the Panthers as Drury's defense limited William Jewell to just two shots. The Panthers were credited with 22 shots, including 13 on goal.
The six goals for Drury are the most for the Panthers in a game since Oct. 3, 2014, when they defeated Maryville 6-0.
The Panthers have a break in their schedule until next Sunday when they host Southwest Baptist in their first home game of 2021. Gametime is 2:30 pm at Harrison Stadium.
