Drury pulls away from William Jewell for 4-0 win in Liberty

LIBERTY, Mo.– The Drury Panthers scored three second-half goals on their way to a 4-0 win at William Jewell in Liberty, Missouri, on Sunday afternoon.

Drury stayed perfect in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, going to 3-0 in the league and 5-1 overall. The Cardinals fell to 0-5-1 and 0-3 in the GLVC.

The Panthers got on the board in the 25th minute on a goal from Rachel Dzarnowski, the first of the season for the sophomore from Wheaton, Illinois.

Drury notched three more goals in the second half on scores from Kennedy Thompson, Christine Harpe, and MacKenzie Serrano. It was the first goal of the year for each, and 10 different Panthers have scored at least one goal so far this season.

DU goalkeeper Kaitlin Knetzke recorded her fifth shutout of the year and her third-straight clean sheet. The junior from Springfield-Catholic saw seven shots, but the Drury defense did not allow any on goal. The Panthers had 31 shots with 17 on goal.

Drury's 5-1 start is their best record through six games since 2014, when they started that season 4-0-2.

The Panthers are idle until next Sunday when they host Southwest Baptist for a game at noon in Harrison Stadium.
