SPRINGFIELD, Ill.– Illinois Springfield battled from behind to win the first set, then took control in a 3-0 win over Drury on Saturday in Springfield, Illinois.
The Panthers fell to 13-16 and 4-7 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, while the Prairie Stars went to 12-11 and 5-6 in the league.
Drury owned a 22-20 lead in the opening set, but Illinois Springfield took five of the next six points to win the opening frame 25-23. The Prairie Stars then rolled to a 25-16 win in the second set and won the third 25-11.
Stormi Tadlock led Drury with nine kills, while
Chloe Rear added 15 assists and 11 digs.
Tayler Neal contributed two solo blocks and a block assist.
Eirini Glynou had a game-high 15 kills for Illinois Springfield while also producing 12 digs. Regan Trueblood added 36 assists and Angela Denney provided 18 digs.
The Panthers end the regular season next Saturday when they host 25
th ranked Quincy at 3 pm in the O'Reilly Family Event Center. Drury will honor their graduating players as part of Senior Day prior to the start of next week's game.
