Drury stays unbeaten in GLVC with 2-1 win over UMSL

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury extended their unbeaten streak to 10 games as they picked up a 2-1 win over Missouri-St. Louis at Harrison Stadium on Sunday.

The Panthers improved to 6-1-5 and 4-0-4 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference and remained the league's only unbeaten team in conference play. Drury is 5-0-5 in their last 10 games. The Tritons fell to 4-7-2 and 3-5-1 in the GLVC.

The Panthers scored first as Kaelan Debbage notched his eighth goal of the year, scoring in the game's 10th minute on an assist from Jamie O'Brien.

Drury maintained their 1-0 lead into halftime, but UMSL evened the score early in the second half. Drury goalkeeper Tyler Frolik made a save on a penalty kick from Leo Sowa, but Sowa tracked down the rebound and put a follow-up shot into the net to the game 1-1 in the 53rd minute.

The Panthers got a penalty kick of their own, though, just three minutes later. O'Brien fired in a rocket past UMSL goalie Austin Reis for his second score of the season and his third point of the game.

Drury held off the Tritons down the stretch and outshot them 17-8. Frolik made two saves in the win.

The Panthers travel to Indianapolis for their next game as they take on the Greyhounds on Friday at 6:30 pm (Central) in Indianapolis, Indiana.
