BOLIVAR, Mo. – The 10th ranked Drury Lady Panthers started their season with a 95-58 win over Kentucky Wesleyan on Friday on the first day of the SBU Tipoff Classic in Bolivar, Missouri.

After taking a 16-14 lead after the first quarter, Drury roared to a 44-23 lead at halftime on the strength of a 19-0 run in the second quarter. The Lady Panthers then put the game out of reach as they outscored Kentucky Wesleyan 26-9 in the third quarter.

Fifth-year senior Kaylee DaMitz-Holt led Drury with 18 points, seven rebounds, and five steals. Caitlynn Daniels, a transfer from Alabama-Birmingham, had 16 points in her Lady Panthers debut, while Mia Henderson had 12, Alana Findley scored 11, and Terrion Moore finished with 10 points.

Drury shot 53 percent in the game, going 35 for 66 from the field and they forced 29 turnovers. The Lady Panthers also owned a 39-20 rebounding advantage.

Tahlia Walton had 10 points for Kentucky Wesleyan and was her team's only double-figure scorer.

The win for Drury avenges a loss to KWU last year. The Lady Panthers went 32-5 in 2021-22, but one of their five losses was at the hands of Kentucky Wesleyan.
