Fourth quarter surge leads Lady Panthers past Trevecca Nazarene

BOLIVAR, Mo. – A big fourth quarter and 33 points from Kaylee DaMitz-Holt helped 10th ranked Drury pull away for a 75-66 win over Trevecca Nazarene at the SBU Tipoff Classic in Bolivar on Saturday.
 
The Lady Panthers went to 2-0 with the win and sent the Trojans to 2-0.
 
Drury entered the fourth quarter trailing by two, 61-59, then put the clamps on Trevecca Nazarene, holding the Trojans to just five points and outscoring them 16-5 in the final period. The Lady Panthers were behind after three quarters in just seven of their 37 games last season and went 4-3 in those contests.
 
DaMitz-Holt scored Drury's first 11 points of the fourth quarter and helped the Lady Panthers establish a six-point lead, 72-66, with 4:29 remaining. The graduate student out of Skyline High School scored 13 of her game-high 33 points in the final period. She ended the game going 12 for 19 from the field, 7 of 11 from the three-point line and added three assists.
 
Terrion Moore chipped in 15 points and five assists for the Lady Panthers.
 
Drury shot 52 percent from the floor, going 29 for 56; they hit 10 of their 22 three-point attempts and forced 22 turnovers against Trevecca Nazarene.
 
Keeley Carter had 21 points to lead the Trojans.
 
Drury will play their home opener on Nov. 19 when they host Emporia State for a 1 pm game at the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
