DU swim teams get wins at William Jewell

LIBERTY, Mo.— The Drury men's and women's swimming & diving teams both picked up wins in a dual on Friday at William Jewell. The Drury men's squad won 133-72, while the Panthers' women's team earned a 131-68 victory.
 
Women's Highlights
  • Claire Conover got wins in three events taking first in the 100 Fly (1:07.60) and the 400 Free (4:39.34). She also was on Drury's winning 200 Free Relay that posted a time of 1:51.30
  • Mellie Wijk won two events, winning the 200 IM with a time of 2:26.72 and the 100 Breast (1:14.08
  • Kasia Rogowska won the 50 Free with a time of 27.04 and was on Drury's first-place 200 Free Relay team
  • Julie Berger posted a win in the 200 Free (2:17.22)
  • Lexie Waller won the 100 Back with a time of 1:06.01
 
Men's Highlights
  • Davi Mourao won three events with first-place finishes in the 200 Free (1:55.37), the 100 Breast (1:00.64), and the 200 Medley Relay team that had a time of 1:43.82
  • Joao Nogueria had a pair of victories taking first in the 200 IM (2:08.02) and the 400 Free (3:51.92)
  • Kham Glass won the 100 Free with a time of 51.31 and was on Drury's first-place 200 Medley Relay team
  • Jan Dueppe won the 800 Free (8:25.00)
  • Alejandro Villarejo picked up a victory in the 100 Back with a time of 57.86
Friday's dual was Drury's last competition until Jan. 7, when they compete in Hawaii.
