BRANSON, Mo.—Playing a Ballparks of America in Branson, the Drury Panthers picked up two wins on Sunday with a 5-2 win over Northwest Missouri State, and a 7-1 victory over Southwest Baptist.
The Panthers held off Northwest Missouri State for a 5-2 win in their first game on Sunday. Drury scored twice in the second inning on a two-RBI single by
Leaha Wininger. The Panthers added three more runs an inning late to take a 5-0 lead as
Lauren Beier drove in a run with a triple, then
Gracie Thomas and
Megan Parsley produced RBI singles.
Kristina Bettis (5-1) struck out 12 batters while allowing just two runs on two hits.
Lauren Beier (1-2) shut down Southwest Baptist in game two as she surrendered just one unearned run while striking out nine batters against one walk.
Parsley had three RBI's while going 2 for 2 with a walk, and
Meagan Mullaney went 2 for 4 with two runs and a stolen base.
The Panthers ended the day 7-5, while Northwest Missouri State went to 3-11 and SBU fell to 2-6.
Drury is back in Branson on Monday to play a doubleheader against Northwest Missouri State starting at noon at Baseball Parks of America.
