OZARK, Mo.— Drury took their first loss of the year but bounced back with a 14-6 win in a non-conference doubleheader against Missouri S&T on Friday at US Baseball Park in Ozark.
The Panthers ended the day 11-1, with the Miners going to 3-3.
Missouri S&T jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the second inning, then tacked on two more runs in the third on their way to a 9-3 victory in game one. Miners pitching held the Panthers to just four hits, and two of Drury's three runs came in the bottom of the ninth when they were already trailing 9-1.
No Panther had a multi-hit game, but
Cooper Munro belted a two-run homer in a pinch-hit appearance in the ninth, his first of the year.
In game two, Drury and Missouri S&T traded four-run first innings. After the Miners took a 6-4 lead in the third, the Panthers took over with a nine-run fourth inning.

Aaron Mann also went 3 for 4 for the Panthers with a pair of runs, an RBI, and a double.
Cade Waits (1-0) worked four innings in relief and struck out six batters to pick up the win.
"I was glad we bounced back from a loss and a quick 4-0 in game two," said Drury head coach
Scott Nasby. "Our bullpen was great today and allowed us to get a split.
"We have some injuries we are working through and need new and young guys to step up in big ways."
Drury and Missouri S&T continue their four-game series on Saturday with a game at noon at US Baseball Park.
