OZARK, Mo. – The Drury Panthers could not overcome a 10-run first inning from 13
th ranked Central Missouri and fell to the Mules 24-11 on Wednesday at US Baseball Park in Ozark.
Central Missouri improved to 12-3 while the Panthers dropped to 13-2.
The Mules took a double-digit lead before Drury came to the plate scoring 10 runs on seven hits, three hit batsmen, and a walk. Drury countered in the bottom of the first with a two-run home run from
Nikko Calabro, his fifth of the year. The Panthers made it 10-4 in the third on a two-RBI single by
DJ McNew, but Central Missouri got momentum back with a six-run fourth inning.
McNew went 3 for 5 with a double, a triple, and three runs batted in.
Aaron Mann scored four times in the game for Drury, going 1 for 1 with an RBI and three walks.
Central Missouri racked up 24 hits in the game, including three doubles and three triples.
Both teams committed three errors.
The Panthers play on the road for the first time this year when they travel to Angelo State for two games this weekend. The two teams play on Saturday at 6 pm, then on Sunday at 2 pm in San Angelo, Texas.
