SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— The Drury volleyball team received a first-place vote in the Great Lakes Valley Conference preseason coaches' poll and was picked for a sixth-place tie in the league standings with Indianapolis. Both the Panthers and Greyhounds had 89 points in the preseason poll.

Lewis is picked to win the league after picking up eight first-place votes and 140 points. Missouri-St. Louis had three first-place votes, 131 points, and was picked second, while Rockhurst also received a first-place vote and 117 points for a third-place finish.

Last season, Drury went 20-8, 10-8 in the GLVC, finished third in the West Division and tied for seventh overall. The Panthers return nine letter winners, including all-conference selection Chloe Rear. Head coach Jenifer Bahner-Hill will enter her ninth season leading the Panthers and ranks second in program history in career wins.

Drury opens the 2022 season in the St. Cloud/Concordia Tournament on Friday when they take on Minnesota-Duluth and St. Cloud State. The Panthers open their home schedule with the Drury/SBU Tournament Sept. 2-3. Drury will face Missouri Western and Southwest Minnesota State on the first day of that event at the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
