Panthers open 2022 schedule in Minnesota
The Drury Panthers will open the 2022 schedule facing three nationally ranked teams in the St. Cloud State / Concordia Tournament in Minnesota on Friday and Saturday.

Drury is coming off of a 20-11 season and returns nine letter winners, including All-GLVC selection Chloe Rear. The Panthers received a first-place vote in the league's preseason poll and are picked for a sixth-place finish in the conference.

All four of Drury's opponents in their season-opening tournament had winning records last year, and three of the teams are in the top 25.

Minnesota-Duluth, the only squad in the group not nationally ranked, received votes in the national poll and went 18-11 last year. Drury takes on the Bulldogs on Friday in their first game of the year, and it will be the first-ever meeting between the two clubs.

St. Cloud State is ranked ninth in NCAA-II and went 27-5 last season. DU and St. Cloud have not played one another since 2013, when the two teams met twice that year and split the two matches 1-1.

Winona State went 28-5 in 2021 and is ranked 15th in the NCAA-II preseason poll. Drury's meeting with the Warriors on Saturday will be the first-ever game between the two teams.

The Panthers conclude the tournament at Concordia (Minn.) on Saturday. The Golden Bears have won nine NCAA-II Championships since 2007, with the latest in 2017. They are ranked sixth in the nation to start the season after going 24-9 last year and falling in the NCAA-II Regional finals to Washburn. Drury will also be playing Concordia for the first time in team history on Saturday.

Following the trip to Minnesota, the Panthers return home and will co-host a tournament with Southwest Baptist Sept. 2-3. All of Drury's games will be played at the O'Reilly Family Event Center, and the Panthers will play two home contests on Friday and two more on Saturday.
