Drury opens home schedule in DU/SBU Tournament
The Drury Panthers play their first home games of the season as they co-host a tournament with Southwest Baptist on Friday and Saturday. Drury will host three games on Friday and Saturday in the O'Reilly Family Event Center, while SBU will host four games on the same days.
 
The Panthers open the event against Missouri Western State on Friday at 10 am, then the Griffins will face 22^nd ranked Southwest Minnesota State at 1:30 pm. The Panthers conclude the first day against SMSU at 5 pm. Lake Superior State will start play on Saturday against Missouri Western at 9 am, then Drury will face the LSSU at 12:30 pm. The Panthers end the event against Southern Arkansas at 4 pm.
 
Southwest Baptist hosts matches against the same opponents as well as Rockhurst over the same two days.
 
Drury opens the tournament 0-4 after losing four times in a tournament in Minnesota. The Panthers face three nationally ranked teams, plus one squad receiving votes for the top 25. Drury went five sets in three of the four matches but fell to number six Concordia-St. Paul, ninth-ranked St. Cloud State, number 15 Winona State, and a Minnesota Duluth team receiving votes in the national poll.
 
Southwest Minnesota enters the tournament 4-0 and is ranked 22^nd in NCAA-II. The Mustangs will be the fourth nationally ranked team the Panthers will have played in 2022 so far. Missouri Western is 1-3, Lake Superior State is 1-3 and Southern Arkansas has started the year 0-4.
 
The Panthers went 12-3 on their home court last year and won all four matches in their home tournament. Drury has been 37-9 in the O' since 2018.
 
After this weekend's tournament, Drury travels to Wichita, Kansas on Tuesday to take on Newman for a 6 pm match.
