Panthers fall in four sets to #24 Quincy

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Drury Panthers volleyball team lost in four sets to the 24th-ranked Quincy Hawks on Friday, October 20th, 2023, 25-23, 17-25, 15-25, 19-25.
 
The Panthers snatched the first set from the Hawks 25 to 23. This was only Quincy's fourth time behind their opponent in the first set all season. Kayli Duncan was the lead contributor earning six kills and a block in the first set. The Panthers could not stop the Hawks' offense as Quincy turned it on in the latter sets with the visitors hitting percentage increasing to .348% and .245% in sets three and four.
 
Drury falls to 3-18 on the season, 1-6 in the GLVC, while Quincy continues their impressive season, increasing to 20-1, 6-0 in the conference.
 
Kayli Duncan led the way for the Panthers with 14 kills, five block assists, and a .400 hitting percentage. Stormi Tadlock added 11 kills to go along with three block assists. Kaitlin Dean had 28 digs and Lauren Tyler had 27 assists. Kaitlin Fasbender added six block assists as well.
 
Alice Pavon led the Hawks with 14 kills while Emma Wijnbergen had 13. Brianna Merkel had 45 assists.
 
The Panthers will be at home tomorrow at the O'Reilly Family Event Center as they face Illinois Springfield at 3 p.m.
