Drury opens GLVC schedule at Lewis 
The Drury Panthers open their Great Lakes Valley Conference schedule on Thursday at Lewis. Tipoff is at 7:30 pm in Romeoville, Illinois.
 
Drury is 5-1 and coming off two wins at home last week in the DoubleTree Thanksgiving Classic with a win over Fontbonne, 91-59, on Nov. 21, and a victory against Missouri Southern, 76-70, the following night.
 
Lewis is 1-3 and is also playing their league opener. The Flyers are coming off a loss on Monday but took seventh-ranked Ferris State to the buzzer in an 89-87 setback. 
 
The Panthers won both meetings against Lewis last year, but both contests went to overtime and both were decided by one point. Drury won at Lewis 79-78 in OT on Jan. 12, then ended the season with a 78-77 victory in the O'Reilly Family Event Center that also went to an extra period.
 
After Thursday's game, Drury continues their road trip as they travel to Indianapolis for a 1:30 pm (Central) contest in Indiana.
 
About Lewis
The Flyers won their season-opener, 80-75, over Ohio Dominican, then dropped their next three. Lewis dropped a 71-66 decision to Tiffin, then fell at Wayne State (Mich.), 82-74. The Flyers are coming off an 89-87 loss at home to seventh-ranked Ferris State. The Bulldogs hit a shot at the buzzer to break an 87-all tie.
 
Beau Frericks leads the Flyers averaging 16.3 points, while Gary Solomon is putting up 14.8 points per game, and Ryan Renfro is averaging 11.5 points and 9 rebounds per game.
