SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Panthers continue their impressive start to the season with another road sweep, this time over the Saint Louis University Billikens Nov. 3-4.
Gannon Steggall got the scoring started for the Panthers in game 1 with his first collegiate goal, followed soon after by
Jakob Holley's sixth goal of the season, but Panthers leading goal scorer
Ethan O'Rourke was the offensive star of the night, with his second hat trick of the season, scoring in each period.
Patrick Labutis and
Tyler Caine added goals in the second period, followed by
Brady Kangas' first collegiate goal and his brother Luke's second of the season. Goaltender
Josh Robins stopped 20-of-22 shots while the Panthers finished Game 1 with a 9-2 win.
Game 2 was equally as dominant, with the Panthers jumping out to a 5-0 lead, led by
Matthew Teasdale's two goals, adding to his five assists in Game 1. Labutis, Holley and O'Rourke each added another goal on the weekend, while
Louis Fournier and
Hunter Finley chipped-in with goals of their own, giving the Panthers a 7-1 win.
Greyson Skirpan stopped 35-of-36 shots for his second win of the season.
