Rolla, Mo– The Drury Panthers defeated Missouri S&T in both games of their Saturday doubleheader. Drury won the first game 5-4 and emerged victorious in game two with a final score of 12-4.
 
The Panthers move to 15-11 on the season, while sending Missouri S&T to 9-13.
 
Game one saw the Miners score first on a solo homerun by Doug Wood in the fourth inning. The Panthers got rolling in the fifth inning when Connor Bain homered to left center to tie the game. The offense was just getting started as Luke Burk drove in Kaden Byrne with a double to left, making it a 2-1 Drury lead.  Max Elmer added another run, driving in Brooks Sunny with a sacrifice fly to right field. 
 
The Miners scored three runs over the next two innings, retaking the lead to make it a 4-3 ballgame. The Panthers found life from a Cooper Munro groundout, which scored Tyler Bastunas. It was Luc Fuller who delivered the winning run after driving a double to left center, scoring Byrne and making it a 5-4 Drury lead.
 
Cody Bahl started the game for the Panthers, tossing 6.2 innings and striking out seven, while allowing two runs. Mason Majors (1-0) was the winning pitcher, closing out the game with a clutch performance.
 
In today's second game, Drury defeated the Miners once more, with a final score of 12-4. The Panthers grabbed an early lead and never looked back, with great performances at the plate and on the mound.
 
It was a powerful display for the Drury offense in game two, which saw the Panthers knock 13 hits and score 12 runs. Eight Panthers tallied a hit in the contest and five Drury players had multi-hit games. The Drury trio of Kellen Williamson, Wes Collins, and Cooper Munro, launched homers in the contest.
 
Mason Meeks (5-2) got the victory on the rubber, tossing six innings and striking out eight batters.
 
Drury concludes their four-game series against the Miners with a doubleheader tomorrow starting at 12 pm.
