ROLLA, Mo– The Drury Panthers split games with Missouri S&T in Monday's doubleheader in Rolla. The Panthers fell in game one with a score of 1-0. Drury bounced back in game two, winning with a final score of 1-0.
 
The Panthers move to (18-18) on the season, and to (6-4) in conference play.
 
Today's first game saw the Miners win without registering a single hit. Drury's 
Kristina Bettis was dominant on the mound, tossing six innings and striking out five, all without allowing a hit or earned run. The Miners were resilient, scratching together a run in the third from a Drury error.
 
The Drury offense had a quiet game, tallying only three hits. 
Camryn BeDell had a base knock, with the other two Drury hits launching from the bat of 
Sydney Sneed.
 
Missouri S&T's Bryn Wooldridge (7-8) got the victory for the Miners. Wooldridge was solid, tossing a complete game shutout and striking out 12 batters.
 
In today's second game, the Panthers were able to grind out a win after a grueling pitcher's duel. 
Karsyn Smith (2-0) took the rubber for Drury, tossing a complete game shutout with four strikeouts. Smith was clutch in the final inning, shutting down any hope for a comeback from the Miners.
 
Drury hitters tallied five hits and the Panther defense was solid in the field. The lone run of the game was delivered from a clutch 
Gracie Thomas single, which put the Panthers up by one in the top of the seventh.
 
Notable performances at the dish included 
Sydney Sneed, who tallied another two-hit game. 
Victoria Garland and 
Lauren Beier also singled in the contest.
 
Drury returns to Springfield to take on Maryville for a doubleheader this Saturday at Thompson Field. First pitch will be thrown at 12 pm.
