Panthers begin GLVC play at home against Lewis and Indianapolis
The Panthers start their conference schedule with two matches against Lewis and Indianapolis. Drury faces off against the Flyers on Friday at 5 p.m. at Lake Country Soccer Field, then will be back on campus to face Indianapolis on Sunday at Harrison Stadium, where the kickoff will be at noon.

Drury is coming off a 2-0 week where they defeated Eastern New Mexico 3-0 and Nebraska-Kearney 2-0 with both games hosted by Nebraska-Kearney.

Lewis enters Friday's match on a two-game losing streak, being outscored 8-1. The Flyers are 1-3-1 on the season so far.

Indianapolis is coming off of a 1-1 week, where the Greyhounds defeated West Virginia State 3-2 but then fell to Northwood 4-1. The Greyhounds will face Southwest Baptist on Friday before squaring off with the Panthers on Sunday. UIndy entered the weekend with a 1-2-1 record.

The Panthers defense has once again become their calling card as they have only allowed three goals in four matches, tied for second-best in the GLVC, only trailing McKendree. Senior goalkeeper

Lewis is led by junior midfielder Elisa Aguilar, sophomore forward Breanna Culver, and senior defender Grace DeVaux, each having a goal and an assist this season. The Flyers have split the net with seniors Bekah Niesen and Emily Villasenor both appearing in three games and having an even playing time of 225 minutes. Nielsen has 11 saves and allowed two goals per game, whereas Villasenor has made 18 saves and allowed 2.8 goals per game.

Indianapolis is led by junior midfielder Sarah Wegener who leads the Greyhounds in assists with two and is tied for the team lead in goals with one. Another junior midfielder, Genevieve Crocker, is the only other Greyhound with two or more goal involvements with one goal and one assist. Between the sticks for Indianapolis is sophomore Kendall Ellis, who has made 13 saves in four games.

Following the two games, the Panthers will travel to Maryville on Friday, Sept. 22, and then travel to Rolla to face Missouri S&T on Sunday, Sept. 24.
