CLAREMORE, Okla. – Rogers State scored twice in the second half to put a Drury comeback out of reach as the Hillcats downed the Panthers 3-0 on Sunday in Claremore, Oklahoma.
Drury ended their season-opening road trip 0-1-1 while Rogers State went to 1-0-1.
The Hillcats got on the board in the first half with a goal from Ruben Carrasco in the 26
th minute. Rogers State then took a 2-0 lead five minutes into the second half and added a third score in the 64
th minute.
Rogers State had a 12-7 advantage on shots, but both teams had four on goal. Drury was led by
Lucas Schofield and
Cayden Meyer, who had two shots each.
The Panthers head back to Oklahoma for two games next weekend when they travel to Oklahoma Christian on Sept. 7, then Southern Nazarene on Sept. 9.
