CASEYVILLE, Ill.— Drury ended the first day of competition in first place at the Bearcat Dual Gender Invitational, hosted by McKendree, at the 6,002-yar, par-72, Far Oaks Golf Club in Caseyville, Ill., on Monday. After 27 holes in the 54-hole tournament, the Panthers own a team score of 32-over-par and lead the 11-team field by two shots. Maryville is two shots back, while McKendree is in third and three shots off the lead.
Taryn Overstreet leads Drury and is tied for second place in the 59-player field at five-over-par. The senior from Jackson, Missouri, was five-over-par in the opening round and is even par after nine holes of the second round. Overstreet is one of three players who are one shot behind the individual leader, Ryah Bergeron, from Upper Iowa.
Grace Stafford and
Jade Carter are both tied for sixth at six-over-par. Carter had Drury's best opening-round score, shooting a +3, 75 in the first round.
Isabelle Thrall is in 20
th at 11-over-par, and
Avery Chappell is tied for 30
th at +13.
The second round resumes on Tuesday morning at 8:30 am and will be followed by the third and final round on Tuesday afternoon.
