DU men's swim & dive wins rematch with Missouri State; women's team fall short in dual

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— Drury swimming & diving teams tangled with Missouri State in a dual for the second straight day and the Drury men's squad came away with a 156.5-86.5 victory while the Missouri State women's team won 161-81. The win for the DU men's team, currently ranked number one in NCAA-II, was their second win in as many nights against the Bears.
 
Women's Highlights
  • Ashlyn Moore took first in the 50 Free and won by 0.13 seconds with a time of 23.68
  • Jonette Laegreid won the 100 Breast as she out-touched Missouri State's Cabrini Johnson by 0.04 seconds with a time of 1:01.90
  • Mellie Wijk was second in the 100 Fly and finished 0.16 seconds off the lead with a time of 54.78
  • The Panthers A team in the 200 Free Relay (Ellie Walker, Mellie Wijk, Gwen Bergum, and Kirsten Lee) narrowly lost to Missouri State's squad as Drury was 0.34 seconds off the winning time at 1:35.43
 
Men's Highlights  
Both of Drury's swimming & diving teams compete again in the Drury Invitational, Nov. 8-9 at the Breech Pool on the DU campus.
