INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Drury's season was stopped on Sunday in the Great Lakes Valley Conference quarterfinals as fourth-seeded Indianapolis advanced past the fifth-seeded Panthers 3-0 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Drury ended the year with an 8-6-4 record. The Greyhounds move on to the league's semifinal round with a 9-4-4 mark.
Indianapolis got on the board early as Ryan Walsh scored his first goal of the year just three minutes into the game. After owning a 1-0 lead at halftime, the Greyhounds took a two-goal lead in the 61
st minute as Demetris Giannakopouls scored for the first time this year. Indianapolis tacked on a goal with three seconds left in regulation to close out the game.
Drury had six shots and four on-goal to the Greyhounds' 17 shots, with eight going on-goal. Ionas Giovanidis had four saves in the shutout, while
Camden Meyer had five saves for the Panthers.
Abdullah Iqbal had two shots, both of which were on-goal for Drury.
The Greyhounds will play top-seeded Lewis in the GLVC semifinals on Thursday at Creve Coeur Soccer Park in St. Louis.
