SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Drury University Softball team and head coach
Brooke Gajewski announced their 2025 schedule on December 17 for the team's 18th season.
The schedule includes tournaments in Branson, Mo., Bentonville, Ark., Evansville, Ind., and Springfield, Mo. Drury's schedule consists of eight teams that made the NCAA-II National Tournament in 2024. The 53-game schedule will have 30 games away from Thompson Field at Meador Park.
The season opens on January 31 in Branson with the Branson Lead-Off Classic where they battle with Arkansas Tech and Southern Nazarene on the 31st and then Oklahoma Baptist and East Central on February 1 to finish the weekend.
Following the weekend in Branson, Drury will travel south to Bentonville, Arkansas, for the Alvy Early Memorial Classic hosted by Arkansas–Monticello. During that tournament, the Panthers will play Southern Arkansas and Newman on February 7, followed by East Central and Southeastern Oklahoma State on February 8.
Drury will hit the road north to play in the Blue Bridge Battle hosted by Kentucky Wesleyan in Evansville, Indiana from February 21-23. In that tournament, the Panthers will play six in-region opponents including the Great Midwest Athletic Conference's (G-MAC) tournament champion, Northwood on February 21.
The Panthers will host the Drury Softball Classic from February 28 through March 2 with six teams representing four conferences. The Panthers will get Minnesota Duluth twice, Newman, Missouri Western, and Wisconsin – Parkside.
Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) play kicks off on March 8 in Springfield against league newcomer Lincoln. It is followed by a trip to Rolla to play a national tournament team and the GLVC tournament champions in Missouri S&T on March 9.
Augustana comes south to play Drury in a midweek doubleheader on March 11. The Vikings were last season's Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) champions. They also made a run to the NCAA-II Softball World Series after winning the central region.
Other notable GLVC bouts are when Drury travels to Indianapolis to play the Greyhounds on March 22. Indianapolis won the league's regular season before reaching the national semifinals. In the final weekend of March, Lewis treks south to play the Panthers. The Flyers, along with Indianapolis, were the only teams to finish above Drury in the GLVC regular season standings.
The conference tournament will be held in East Peoria, Illinois, from May 1 to 4 for the 21st consecutive season. The top eight teams in the GLVC's regular season will advance to the double-elimination tournament.
Chattanooga, Tennessee will play host to the NCAA-II Softball World Series from May 22-28.
Drury returns six of their top ten batters from last season, led by
Sophia Luetticke and
Brooklyn LaChappa. Luetticke hit .393 in 54 games played. LaChappa had a batting average of .299 and slugged .377. There were four Drury pitchers last season that appeared in over 20 games, two of them returned,
AJ Agers and
Kaley Adzick. Agers recorded a 2.90 ERA in 91.2 innings pitched. Adzick had a 2.96 in 71 innings pitched.
