LIBERTY, Mo.— The Drury Lady Panthers took down William Jewell on Saturday 75-56 for their 10th straight win. The win moves Drury to 18-4 on the season and 13-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Cardinals dropped to 5-18 and 3-14 in the league.

After dueling the Cardinals in the opening ten minutes to lead 15-8, the Lady Panthers scored 20 more points and carried a 35-27 lead into halftime.

The third quarter was tightly contested, with Drury clinging to a nine-point lead heading into the 4th period. The Lady Panthers would find another gear defensively, holding Jewell to just 12 points and outscoring them by ten in the 4th quarter, 22-12, securing the victory.

Drury guard, Makaiya Brooks was the driving force for the Lady Panthers, scoring 18 points off the bench, including going a perfect 4 for 4 from three-point land. Junior guard Caitlynn Daniels, led Drury with 5 assists and 9 rebounds.

"Makaiya is a sparkplug for our offense," said Drury head coach Kaci Bailey. "She can change a game with her shooting and she creates several opportunities for her teammates in the paint."

Drury guard Beth Matas Martin scored 14 points and added three assists for the Lady Panthers. Drury also received a scoring spark from Anna Hitt and Andjela Kremenovic, who scored 10 each.

"We're proud of where we are, but we know our best ball is down the road," remarked Bailey. "We're focused on getting better every day and working to be the best team we can be."

William Jewell was led in scoring by Ayden Shannon, who had a team-best 17 points.

The Lady Panthers continue Great Lakes Valley Conference action when they return home to host Missouri St. Louis in a 5:45 pm game at the O'Reilly Family Event Center on Thursday.
