SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— Drury scored seven runs in the fifth inning on their way to a 14-6 win at eighth-ranked West Texas A&M on Friday in Canyon, Texas.
The Panthers evened their record to 2-2 and the Buffalos dropped to 10-3.
Drury trailed 5-0 after two innings but scored two runs in the fourth, then turned the game around with seven in the fifth inning.
Luke Burk blasted a three-run home run in the frame and
Kaden Byrne hit a two-run double. Drury also had an RBI-single by
Wes Collins and a bases-loaded walk from
Landon Willbrand.
The Panthers added four runs in the sixth and another run in the seventh.
Tyler Bastunas went 4 for 5 at the plate with a double, two runs, and two runs batted in. Collins was 3 for 4 with two runs, a double and an RBI.
Luke Burk drove in four runs, he hit his second home run of the season and added a triple.
Cody Bahl (1-0) got the win, going 6.2 innings and allowed six hits, five runs and three earned runs with three walks and five strikeouts.
The two teams continue the series on Saturday with a 2 pm game in Canyon, Texas.
