EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Drury won their first two games of the Blue Bridge Battle tournament in Evansville, Indiana, on Friday with a 7-0 win over Northwood, and a 9-0 victory in five innings against Thomas More.
 
In Drury's first game of the day, the Panthers blew open a 2-0 lead with a five-run fifth inning. After scoring two runs in the first, Drury opened up a cushion as Sophia Luetticke drove in a run with a single, Lauren Beier belted a double that drove in two more, and the Panthers capped the frame taking advantage of a Northwood error.
 
AJ Agers (1-1) got the win as Drury used three pitchers to combine for a four-hit shutout. Taylor Hartsell went 3 for 4 at the plate with a run, two runs batted in, and a stolen base.
 
The Panthers won the second game of the tournament with a 9-0 win over Thomas More. Drury scored eight runs in the fourth to set up the five-inning win. The Panthers had six extra-base hits, including a first-inning home run from Lauren Beier. Hartsell went 2 for 3 with two runs and a double.
 
Bailee Nixon and Kristina Bettis combined to hold Thomas More to no runs on three hits.
 
Drury ended the day 4-6 and return to action on Saturday in day two of the tournament when they take on Tiffin at 10 am, then Ashland at noon.
