EVANSVILLE, Ind.—Drury split two games at the Blue Bridge Battle tournament in Evansville, Indiana on Saturday as they fell to Tiffin 4-1, and defeated Ashland 5-3.
In their first game on Saturday, Tiffin scored three runs in the third inning and held off the Panthers to win 4-1. Drury scored their lone run in the sixth on a
Victoria Garland single in the fourth.
The Panthers were held to three hits by two Dragons pitchers.
Drury bounced back to win their second game on Saturday with a 5-3 win over Ashland. The Panthers trailed 3-0 after two innings, but changed the game with three runs in the fifth inning, then took the lead with two in the sixth.
Drury broke a 3-3 tie in the sixth on a two-RBI double by
Maggie McKee that scored
Victoria Garland and
Lauren Beier. Beier finished the game going 2 for 3 with two runs and a double, while Garland belted a 2-run home run in the 5
th.
Drury ended the day 5-7 and 3-1 in the tournament. The Panthers wrap up their play in the tournament when they take on Walsh on Sunday at 10 am.
