SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— The Drury Panthers took advantage of two Augustana errors and made the most of their six hits in a 5-2 win over Augustana on Monday at Thompson Field in Springfield.
 
Drury improved to 11-12, and Augustana dropped to 10-7.
 
The Vikings loaded the bases in the first inning but only drove in one run in the frame. The Panthers took the lead in the third as Sophia Luetticke and Kaley Adzick scored on a fielding error and a throwing error. Rylee Kolb gave Drury a 3-1 lead in the third with a sacrifice fly.
 
Augustana pulled within a run as they scored in the fourth, but the Panthers got breathing room with a pair of runs in the fifth. Maggie McKee and Kolb both had RBI singles to give Drury a three-run lead.
 
Four Drury pitchers worked around trouble during the afternoon as the Vikings stranded 11 runners. Adzick (2-2), Drury's second pitcher of the day, worked two innings and got the win. Kristina Bettis allowed two base runners in the top of the fifth but held off the Vikings for her third save of the year.
 
Kolb finished the game going 1 for 2 with 2 RBIs, while Luetticke went 2 for 3 with two runs, and Adzick was 2 for 2 with two runs.
 
Ashton Dorman was 3 for 3 with a double for Augustana. Helene Kruge (0-1) took the loss for the Vikings.
 
Drury is on the road on Wednesday when they travel to Emporia State for a doubleheader starting at 2 pm.
