Panthers roll past Missouri S&T

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Drury Panthers hosted their first home game of the season against a Great Lakes Valley Conference opponent on Friday, defeating Missouri S&T with a final score of 7-0.

The Drury bats had a strong day, slapping 10 total hits and scoring over 5 runs for the 10th time this season. The Panthers quickly found momentum in the first inning after a single up the middle by Luke Burk scored Connor Bain. Drury infielder Tyler Bastunas would follow with a triple down the right field line, driving in Burk and Brandon Holdren. The Panthers would cap the inning by scoring once more on a Missouri S&T passed ball, which gave Drury a 4-0 lead after one inning of play.

The Panthers offense would strike again in the fifth, with two runs crossing after a hard hit ball off the bat of Tyler Bastunas allowed Wes Collins and Connor Bain to score. Drury would tack on another run in the sixth, before ultimately taking the game with a final score of 7-0. The Panthers were led by starter Cody Bahl (3-1) who tossed a complete game shutout, allowing just 3 hits and striking out 3 batters.
