Lady Panthers pull away from Lincoln for road win

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.— The Drury Lady Panthers stayed unbeaten in the Great Lakes Valley Conference with a 68-47 win at Lincoln in Jefferson City, Missouri, on Thursday night.

Drury went to 10-3, 6-0 in the GLVC, and they won their fourth straight game. The Blue Tigers dropped to 1-11, 0-6 in the conference, and the loss extended their losing streak to 11 games.

The Lady Panthers pulled away from Lincoln in the second half. After leading 34-29 at halftime, Drury held the Blue Tigers to 18 points in the second half and led by as much as 22 in the fourth quarter.

"I do not think this was one of our best performances," said Drury head coach Kaci Bailey. "We played a scrappy team and they took us out of our rhythm. We came in the second half and decided to play a little defense. We didn't have a great shooting game, but had 15 offensive rebounds so it helped to make up for that."

Sara Mendel had a double-double for Drury with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Rhi Gibbons added 12 points and Kaylee King came off the bench in contribute 11.

Biance Stocks had a game-high 17 points for Lincoln.

Drury held the Blue Tigers to 25 percent shooting from the field as Lincoln went 14 for 57. The Lady Panthers shot 41 percent, hitting 26 of their 63 shots, and had a 50-35 advantage of the boards.

The Lady Panthers conclude their road trip on Saturday with a 1 pm game at Missouri S&T.
