ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Drury men's and women's cross country teams placed fifth out of 12 teams and sixth out of 14 teams at the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Championships on Saturday.

The men's team competed in the 8K and placed fifth with 100 points. Tyler Harris led the Panthers and was the runner-up individually, placing second with a time of 23:51.13. His time broke the school record for fastest 8K in Drury history, surpassing a mark set by Jaime Villa Zapatero back in 2009. Ethan Haynes followed in 11th place with a time of 24:38.30, moving him into third all-time in program history.

The women's team ran a 6K and placed sixth with 133 points. Cera Eckenroth was the frontrunner for the Panthers, finishing fourth with a time of 21:48.73. Eckenroth's time today ties her for sixth-fastest 6K all-time in Drury history. Josie Diffendaffer finished shortly after in 13th with a time of 22:20.41.

Tyler Harris, Ethan Haynes, Cera Eckenroth, and Josie Diffendaffer each earned All-GLVC honors for finishing in the top 20 individually.

Lewis won both the men's and women's races with 41 points and 40 points, respectively.

HIGHLIGHTS QUOTABLE
"I thought the women ran great", said head coach Luke Karamitros. "Cera and Josie stepped up big time, and Georgi improved her time from last year as well. The men struggled a bit. Tyler stepped up with a big race – with that time, I would've thought he'd be the individual champion. Ethan pieced together a great race as well at his last championship. I hope we can have these people step up at Regionals, too!"
