LIBERTY, Mo. – Drury volleyball rebounded with a straight-sets road victory over William Jewell (25-12, 25-14, 25-16) in Great Lakes Valley Conference action Saturday afternoon at Mabee Center.
Ella Rademaker led the Drury (9-6, 2-2 GLVC) offense with a match-high 10 kills, while Mailie Chretien hit a blistering .545 with seven kills and a team-high eight digs. The DU defense limited the Cardinals to -.051 hitting for the match, forcing 28 Jewell attack errors.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Drury dropped the first point of the match, but never trailed again in the set, as the Panthers took advantage of a series of early Cardinal attack errors to score eight-straight points.
- The Panthers extended their first-set advantage to as many as 14 points behind an offense that hit .296 and registered seven blocks.
- Chretien paced the DU offense with six kills in the opening set, as the Panthers held the Cardinals to -.231 hitting.
- Drury followed a familiar pattern to build another big lead in the second, as the Panthers won 10 of the first 11 points of the stanza.
- Rademaker led the early rally with a trio of kills, in addition to teaming up on a pair of blocks with Phoebe Riddle, who recorded five total blocks for the match.
- Jewell got no closer than seven points throughout the rest of the set, as DU cruised to a 25-14 victory.
- The Panthers once again gained an early advantage in the third, taking a 5-2 lead on Rademaker's second kill of the set.
- The Cardinals battled back to force five ties throughout the set, but DU won 10 of the last 12 points, including a 7-0 run to close out the victory.
- Rademaker once again led the DU offense with four kills, while Riddle chipped in with three kills to go along with her two early block assists in the 25-16 DU win.

- Drury hit .239 for the match, which represents the Panthers' best since hitting .261 vs. East Central on Sept. 13.
- Rademaker's 10 kills gives her nine double-digit kill performances this season, which is the top total on the club.
- Jacy Bray led Drury with 14 assists, while Lauren Tyler added 11 for the Panthers.
- Tyler ran her Drury career assist total to 2,081 in 68 matches with the Panthers, good for 10th on DU's all-time assist list.
- Riddle's five blocks led all defenders in the match, marking the sixth time this season the senior has reached the five-block plateau in a match; Riddle also hit a season-high .455.
- Chretien's .545 hitting percentage matched her season best (vs. Lane on Sept. 13).
- Drury improved to 30-3 all-time vs. William Jewell with its 14th consecutive win in the series.
- Head coach Jenifer Bahner-Hill hiked her career mark against the Cardinals to 16-1 with the victory.
