SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury wrestling will host its eighth annual Drury Open on Nov. 15, with matches beginning at 9 a.m. in Weiser and Mabee gyms in Springfield, Mo.
The Open will feature more than 200 athletes from programs across the region competing in double-elimination brackets within their respective weight classes.
In last year's Drury Open, returners Bryson Humphries (125 lbs.), Gaven Bremenkamp (165 lbs.), Jeremiah Halter (174 lbs.), and Jack Stoffel (285 lbs.) each placed fifth, while Johnny Williams (197 lbs.) finished sixth.
The Panthers have produced nine champions total in the Drury Open. Will Kuster was champion of the 165-pound weight class last season, becoming Drury's first champion since 2021. The 2018 Open marked the program's most successful performance with four individual champions.
LOOKING AHEAD
Following the Drury Open on Saturday, the Panthers compete in the Kaufman Brand Bayly Open hosted by Central Missouri on Nov. 22. Matches in Warrensburg, Mo., are set to start at 9 a.m.
