SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Following a three-week layoff from competition, Drury swimming and diving returns to Breech Pool to host the Drury Invitational, Friday (Nov. 7) and Saturday (Nov. 8). Competition begins at 4 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday, as fellow Great Lakes Valley Conference foes William Jewell, Missouri S&T, Quincy, Rockhurst and Southwest Baptist will compete against both Drury squads.

Both Drury teams are coming off fourth-place finishes at the SMU Classic in Dallas on Oct. 10-11. Ranked No. 6 in the October edition of the CSCAA Division II Top 25 dual meet poll, the DU women are coming off of a national runner-up finish at the 2025 NCAA Division II Championships.
On the men's side of the ledger, the Panthers earned the top spot in the CSCAA D-II Top 25 poll after posting a dominant win over Missouri S&T in their first dual meet of the season on Oct. 4, and a third-place finish at the 2025 NCAA Championships in March.
The Drury swimming programs are led by Brian Reynolds, one of the nation's most accomplished collegiate swimming coaches. Reynolds enters his 43rd year as head coach of the Panthers men's team and his 38th season leading the women's program in 2025.
LAST TIME OUT...
Both Drury squads edged out meet host SMU (NCAA-I) for the No. 4 position in the team standings at the SMU Classic (Oct. 10-11). For the second straight day in Dallas, the Drury men were paced by big performances from Belhassen Ben miled and Joao Nogueira. Ben miled, who placed third in the 400 IM on day one of the event, took silver in the 200 fly with a time of 1:46.31, while Nogueira registered a third-place finish in the 200 breast (1:58.43) after wrapping up a bronze in the 100 breast yesterday.
On the women's side of the ledger, Gwen Bergum turned in the top individual finish for the Panthers on Saturday, placing third in the 200 breast with a swim of 2:15.26.
The Panthers' dive contingent wrapped up a solid weekend with a fourth-place finish at the Clarion Fall Classic, led by 10th place finishes from Claire Garrelts (1-meter) and Anamarie Lewis (3-meter). DU placed second in Friday's Don Leas Invitational, after Lewis placed third in the 3-meter (203.05).
PANTHERS TO WATCH THIS WEEKEND
- Ivan Adamchuk (free/IM/back) helped the DU men to a third-place finish in the 400 medley relay at SMU; he also posted an NCAA D-II provisional qualifying finish in the 200 back (1:46.38) in Dallas and currently owns the top 100 back time (47.12) in the nation.
- Carter Austin (diving) competed in the men's 1-meter dive at SMU, placing fifth with a tally of 203.30.
- Gwen Bergum (IM/free/relays) produced two of the DU women's top individual performances over the first two weekends of the season, including a second-place finish in the 200 breast vs. Arkansas (2:23.21), as well as a bronze in the same event at SMU (2:15.26); she also placed fourth in the 100 breast (1:02.37) with the second-fastest time in the Division II ranks this season.
- Yuri Cabral (free/relays) posted a second-place finish with a time of 20.57 in the 50 free in DU's season-opening dual with Missouri S&T, before turning in a 20.07 swim at SMU, which is the fourth-fastest at the Division II level this season; he also competed for the Panthers' 200 free, 800 free and 200 medley relay teams.
- Ashlyn Moore (free/back/relays) placed fifth for the Panthers in the women's 50 free at SMU, clocking a swim of 23.58; she also owns the No. 8 100 free mark (50.88) nationally this season and helped the Panthers' 400 medley relay team to a fourth-place finish (3:46.71) in Dallas.
- Rianne Rose (fly/free) finished fourth in the 200 fly against Arkansas, logging a swim of 2:06.34, before topping that with a time of 2:02.78 at SMU, which is the No. 6 mark in the nation to date; the freshman has competed for the Panthers' 200 and 400 medley and 800 free relays over the season's first two competitions.
- Piera Rufino (diving) competed in the 3-meter diving competition for Drury, placing fifth with a score of 202.35.
- Alvaro Zornoza (back/fly/relays) enjoyed a solid weekend at SMU, notching NCAA provisional qualifying times in the 100 back (47.63) and 200 back (1:43.95), as well as the 200 IM (1:49.09); he also helped the Panthers to a third-place finish in the 400 medley relay.

Drury swimming and diving will return to Dallas to compete in the SMU Invitational, Nov. 20-22.
