BRANSON, Mo. – Drury dropped two in the second day of the Branson Lead-Off Class. In game one to Oklahoma Baptist, 5-1, and in game two to East Central, 11-3.
Game One vs Oklahoma Baptist
Drury's bats were awake in the first inning reaching base three times but only able to push one run across. This would be the only time in the game that the Panthers would plate a run this game.
Oklahoma Baptist was able to score four runs in the fourth inning aided by a Drury error. The Bison would score once more in the game and take the win, 5-1.
Landry Cochran led the offense with two hits out of the four total that the Panthers had. In the circle,
AJ Agers got the start going three innings with a strikeout.
Game Two vs East Central
The final game of the Branson Lead-Off Classic had a slow start for both teams, with no runs coming until the fourth inning.
In that fourth inning, East Central scored twice after a triple and a single. Drury responded to the runs from the Tigers by putting up three of their own. A double from
Reece Anderson to start the bottom half of the inning followed by doubles from
Natalie Wilks and
AJ Agers gave Drury a short-lived spark.
The Tigers would put up four in the sixth and five in the seventh to regain and put the game out of reach for Drury.
AJ Agers went 1-3 with two RBIs.
Brooklyn LaChappa,
Reece Anderson,
Sophia Luetticke, and
Natalie Wilks, all totaled one hit a piece.
