SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury took Minnesota Duluth, 7-3, on the first day of the Drury Softball Classic, while the game against Minnesota State-Moorhead was canceled mid game.
 
Game One vs MSU-Moorhead
Drury and MSU-Moorhead were called at the bottom of the fourth because of a medical emergency. The Panthers were leading 6-0. The game will not be complete as of now.
 
Game Two vs Minnesota Duluth, 7-3
Coming off a shortened game one, Drury was looking to play their first complete game of the classic.
 
The Bulldogs scored one in the top of the first inning, but the Panthers responded with three of their own. Sophia Luetticke got the scoring started with a double down the left-field line to score Brooklyn LaChappa. Luetticke would eventually score on a wild pitch. Landry Cochran would end the scoring in the inning with a single to score Avery Budde.
 
Avery Budde would add to the Drury total in the 3rd with a single to score Luetticke. Entering the 4th, Drury held a 4-1 advantage.
 
With Duluth scoring one in the top half of the fourth, Sophia Luetticke continued her strong day with an RBI infield single scoring Reece Anderson.
 
Victoria Garland and AJ Agers each added an RBI single for Drury in a rout to their 7-3 win over UMD.
 
Jordyn Foley pitched five innings allowing two runs. Avery Budde came in relief for the final two innings. Budde and Luetticke led the Panthers offensively with two hits each.

Drury will play Parkside and Moorhead on the second day of the Drury Softball Classic tomorrow.
