McKendree and Maryville travel to Springfield for GLVC doubleheader against Drury
#20 McKendree and Maryville will play Drury starting on Saturday in the Panthers' first full home Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) weekend.

Drury is coming off their best win of the season after taking down #8 Augustana. The win was the Panthers' second-ever top-ten win, #5 Indianapolis, on April 24, 2021. In the win, Landry Cochran provided the late-game heroics with a two-RBI single in the bottom of the sixth to secure the 2-0 victory. Avery Budde threw a complete game against Augustana only giving up four hits. In the doubleheader split, Sophia Luetticke extended her hitting streak to 17 games tying the program record that Shawna Barrow set in 2011.

On Saturday, Drury will host #20 McKendree. The Bearcats are on a two-game losing streak after falling to Augustana and Washburn on Thursday in Branson. McKendree is 2-4 in their last six games. McKendree is led by Lauren Harris. Harris was a third-team All-American two seasons ago. This season she is hitting .412 with 29 RBIs. In the circle is Sami Huck. Huck is one of the most dominant pitchers in the country with 113 strikeouts, fourth in the nation. She has four games this season with double-digit strikeouts including a 14 K game against Ashland. Last season, McKendree and Drury split in Lebanon. In the Drury win, Lauren Harris was 2-4 with three RBIs but Brooklyn LaChappa, AJ Agers, and Sophia Luetticke all recorded two hits.

Maryville and Drury will play a GLVC doubleheader on Sunday. The Saints will open their weekend at Missouri S&T before traveling to Springfield. Maryville lost two games to Missouri Southern on Wednesday. Last weekend, the Saints opened GLVC play against Rockhurst and William Jewell, splitting both doubleheaders. Maryville will run out Chayse Ramey to pitch against the Panthers. Ramey was a third-team all-GLVC selection last season. This season Ramey is eighth in the league in strikeouts with 49 entering this weekend. The Panthers and Saints split in the 2024 season. The Panthers' win was an 18-5 victory in five innings. Sophia Luetticke is the only returning Panther who had multiple hits in the run-rule win. Kaley Adzick picked up the win, pitching four innings and striking five out.

Following this weekend of GLVC play, Drury will host Pittsburg State in a midweek doubleheader on Wednesday. The first pitch is slated for 1:00 pm.
