SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury guard Zach Howell was named to the Academic All-District by the College Sports Communicators on Tuesday. The award recognizes the top performers in the region, combining their achievements on the court and in the classroom.
 
Howell played in all 27 games for the Panthers and averaged 13.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, and shot 36 percent from three-point range. The sophomore from Springfield Catholic had two 25-point games and topped 20 points seven times. Howell was in his first season at Drury after transferring from Milwaukee.
 
Howell is majoring in Business. Nominees for the award had to have a minimum of a 3.5 cumulative grade point average and played in 90 percent of the team's games during the season.
